I can’t speak for anyone else, but that was the age range where I was totally self conscious and uncomfortable with my body. If someone had strip searched me at that age, I’d have been mortified. Those poor girls.

A friend’s family had a daughter who was about 12 or so, and was acting goofy and silly in public (“hyper”, as we called it when I was her age). Someone commented to my mother that they thought perhaps this girl was “special” or something, because she was so immature.

My Dude has given me the same spiel regarding our 13 year old. I do not doubt that he would break a bitch for harming one hair on her head! 

Those poor girls. At that age, it’s hard enough to be in the locker room with other girls your age, let alone being forced to strip in front of adults.  

And you really believe that narrative? Keep in mind school systems will say anything if it means not being held liable.

Being a child while black.

My brother and I made a mixtape consisting solely of him belching.  This was in the cassette recorder days so it actually was 5 minutes of burps rather than one burp on repeat.  We then proceeded to laugh like maniacs every time we heard it.  Good times!

What a fucking shitshow. Also, I don’t get the regulations around school staff strip-searching(!!!!) children? When I trained as a teacher a decade or so ago, we were given very strict and very limited guidelines on when/how/where to touch a child. The ‘don’t strip-search them’ was implied.

The school says it was only pockets, shoes and jackets, and nobody was punished. So... the girls invented all the sordid details just for kicks.

When I was 12, my best friend and I filmed videos of us dancing awfully to emo music and bad sketch comedy bits we ripped off from the Amanda Show. Giddy and hyper is the natural state of the 12-year-old girl. You should be concerned if a 12-year-old girl ISN’T acting giddy and hyper.
