There was a discussion in another thread about how her accent just strikes some of us wrong, and I decided she sounded like she was trying too hard with her accent - she overshoots the “posh” just a bit, just enough to sound off. I kind of feel the same way about her grammer. It’s like she threw the “with which” in to

I was trying to figure out how it was “crocheted.” Are the ropes crocheted? (I don’t really know how to crochet, but I know enough to wonder how that stole is crocheted.)

Ongoing funny frustrating cat habit: One of my cats is so focused and diligent in the litter box, he makes me laugh, he hunches over and scratches and scratches, turning multiple times to check and scratch from another angle - and he never covers any of his poop. AT. ALL. All of his scratching is on the edges and

I was strongly on the pity side, especially given her being raised in a Bill Gothard ministry type household (same flavor of religion as the Duggars - that can mess a child up), but then I got to where I saw her new name. Now I’m more on the cringy side. But there’s still a good amount of pity.

Aren’t there more things to consider here when comparing? I mean, I’ve lived in one of the higher real estate tax states, but they had no state income tax.   And maybe add state and local sales tax into the equation? Or do all of those taxes pay for different things?

Didn’t they also swear by Murphy?

That’s the kind of north I think about moving to. Don’t think I could handle Canada north.

Yes, unfortunately my melting point is around 90, which is why I spend March through October here thinking about moving. I don’t think I could handle Canada cold, but maybe something between that and where I live.

It’s 80 F and sunny here. Every summer I seriously think about moving north. Every winter I decide to not to do that.

The whole show is worth watching, all the guests were great, and Denzel Washington comes on later.

A mosque in a very typical small Texas city burned to the ground in the middle of the night about a month ago (the same weekend that Trump’s executive order banning immigrants caused such chaos). Later that same day, at least 4 local churches and a local synagogue offered space for them to worship until they could

Finally, life is not like they show it on TV. Manage your expectations accordingly.

Ha! I thought a similar thing when he talked about not being aggressive or belligerent - even though they understand how worrying or stressful it is to have a family member who is sick - while he was drawing a woman in a headscarf with a family member holding her hand.

Yeah, I hesitated to bring this up, but why are the only POC we see the child laborers? But I do realize this is only a short clip.

I kind of felt that way about the whole clip - everyone’s working hard and she’s skipping around to return a book. Does she hate the town because she’s the only one that doesn’t have to work for a living?

Now I don’t feel so bad - I always think her accent sounds fake. I know she’s British, but something just always feels off to me about her accent.

Yes, let’s say it for what it is - they were sexually abused because they were already in a severely abusive environment. Of course they didn’t have the agency or strength to know what to do about the sexual abuse, they were already so psychologically, emotionally, and physically abused.

I’m still working on my baby blanket. And the baby was born yesterday :).

I loved the series from the beginning, but I also felt that the 2nd half of season 2 was probably the best so far.

It just really made me chuckle how you have taken the fascist accusation/insult to a whole new level - fascists, but not as classy as the Nazis. Such a low bar, and they can’t even reach that.
