I was a young fan, preteen, had been watching TOS reruns enough that my siblings and I had contests to see who could shout out the episode name within the first few seconds of a show starting. Like Anarwen, the main reaction to the movie was OMGOMGOMG more STAR TREK!!!! My reaction to the Klingons was, huh, that’s

Box kitties FTW!! :)

I did a simple one of these by cutting smallish holes in a plastic soda bottle so they had to roll it around to get the treats out. It works, I guess. I’m not sure they’re any happier or healthier. They just want the food.

I’m always up for the kitty open threads.

Ooh, I really like organizing and spacing out a rewatch schedule. The shows I like to rewatch I’ve kind of done to death, same with a lot of book series. I like this idea of really keeping track and enforcing a cooling off period for each one.

I have also bought dresses from http://www.eshakti.com/. They are completely customizable for an additional $10 (like, you can give them all your measurements), and the baseline prices are very reasonable. They have tons of dress styles that would work for a wedding dress. They are made in India. I’ve ordered a couple

I second (third or fourth?) the blanket suggestions. Blankets are even more mindless than scarves, imo. And baby blankets are really not that big of a project. There are also patterns that use larger yarn or double strands/bigger needles that don’t take long at all, if that’s an issue for you. I always pretty much

That is gorgeous! Please show us the finished product when you get there!

Honestly, I think these must be different aliens, not Klingons. The shape of the head, the weird angles to the face you can kind of see on that one guy, those outfits, none of these things seem to have any kind of Klingon aesthetic to me.

Not to mention the wierdest wtf in the mirror universe where the hologram character is a real person (who dies very quickly).

Yes, they all leave you with a sneaking suspicion that they are actually incredibly insecure and unsure of who they are outside of how other people see them.

That movie is the first thing I thought of when I read the article title. I can still clearly picture that moment in the movie after her first full day of working at the playboy club, Kirstie/Gloria sitting at home, undressed, to tired to even go to bed, with a bodysuit-shaped bruise on most of her torso from being

I dislike this one a lot, too. Not my worst sound trigger, but definitely in the top 5.

For me it’s swallowing, like that loud gulping swallowing noise in some soda commercials, and some people make everytime they swallow - rage and nausea inducing, but I try to just live with it, people can’t help the way they swallow. Oh, and that smacky smacking kissing noise sound effect they seem to think we need

Same. But I do throw my pillows in the dryer for 30 minutes every few weeks. Fluffs them up and I figure it gets rid of most of the dust/dirt/cat hair.

And Dune kitten

His sister is a major character in the next 2 books, his mother a little less, but she plays a large part in most of the 3rd book. And there’s a lot of Irulan. And the later books are also full of strong women characters and the last 2 are a lot more about the Bene Gesserit, though I don’t like those books as much as

Ha, yes, we need Bilbo’s tragic backstory. Didn’t his parents both drown when he was young?
