Quite the opposite! As I clearly state in the last sentence of my post, the prospect of Fairy type and potential Vampire, Shapeshifter and Werewolf types made me excited to get back into playing Pokemon again.

Well yes, you are absolutely correct. I have not investigated any deeper into "fairy mythology" and all my fairy knowledge is indeed from pop culture. Started with Peter Pan I believe ;) Guess I never cared enough to learn more.
