Thanks. For me, what puts it over the top is that the other people I was watching with, none of whom were Giants fans, seemed just as emotionally invested in every play as I was.

I was looking at it as someone who wasn’t a fan of either team. In terms of pure game play I would probably say the Steelers/Cards or Pats/Seahawks was my favorite. In terms of significance than III and XLII are the most important, although I agree with your that III is a really shitty game.

As an 11 year old bandwagon Titans fan that game crushed my soul.

I’m also a Giants fan (obviously not a neutral observer). I spent the next week walking around college in my Osi Umenyiora jersey with a smug look on my face.

I’m looking at it from the point of view of just how fucking miserable the world would be if New England won that game. XLIII was a classic.

To the neutral observer, Super Bowl XLII is the best Super Bowl of all time. This is not debatable.
