I mean you’re welcome to your opinion, but FFIX’s story is way more consistent than the majority of other FFs. FFVII is borderline incoherent, and if superfluous characters were a bad thing, FFVI wouldn’t be nearly as popular as it is.

It’s my favourite game of all time, but I have a horrible feeling they didn’t archive the HD artwork. Look at the mess with Grim Fandango where they had to salvage the data from broken magnetic tape reels using equipment from a guy’s garage.

I was hoping the same thing, but the announcement trailer showed low res backgrounds. Some will probably get re-added by modders, but there’s so many backgrounds still missing that this only covers about 30% of the game =(

Oh no, judging by the gameplay in the trailer the backgrounds are just as compressed as ever! What a waste, those people’s work really deserves to be seen =(

That’s my hope too, I would give anything for people to be able to play this with high resolution rendered backgrounds, the art was so detailed (especially things like Lindblum’s backgrounds and Burmecia) and so much of it was lost in compression.

Seems unlikely. He’s hardly out of practice, he’s been doing phenomenal voice acting for years. Sure it’s not the same thing as live action but I doubt he’d be unsalvageably bad in that department- if so, why commit so hard to including him in the next movie in less than 2 years?
