Thanks for this series Mike! I always looked forward to it and you could not have picked a better one to end on (maybe I'm biased). Love this movie and the ending for all the reasons you mention above. Arrival reminded me a bit of it too - life's a package deal.

I said something similar to my wife. Followed by, "I don't think Dan knows what words mean." This turned out to be extremely prescient when the immunity challenge revealed that Dan doesn't even know what words look like.

I logged in just to like this comment because it perfectly mirrors what I did. The whole episode told me that Jenn would play the idol, but the length of time they let Jeff's query sit unanswered had me going. Damn.

The dreaded Nicaragua - San Juan Del Sur looks more like it every episode.

I agree with Carrie but see this as just the ultimate example of how Survivor prefers to "shock" casual viewers than show hard-core fans the real strategy. Almost every week there is a feint at someone switching a vote so viewers think there is a possibility of one of two different people being voted out. Frequently

I immediately guessed In Search of Lost Time, then switched to Swann's Way. I think if it had been me, I would have written both.

I noticed that too. Early on, I was happy to see how well she was doing, but then she kind of fell off and I couldn't help but think maybe she was getting tired from whatever illness she had.

Agreed. I wouldn't sweat this comment too much though. Last week @danthekingofsockmonkeys:disqus was talking about how much weight he thought Julia had put on and derided her "following" (ie her friends and family), so I wouldn't put too much stock in his opinion.

I was sort of in the right neighborhood, but the best I could do was Canberra (and hoped he was a soldier that I was not aware of).

I was pretty surprised that Julia missed "The Defiant Ones" and "The Third Man" as she generally seems to do pretty well on the pop culture questions (if memory serves). Then again, she said on Twitter that she had to lie down for 20 minutes after brushing her teeth that morning, so it's possible she could have

Yeah, this has been a complaint for a while now. Bad enough that the reward is done in two teams (instead of a single winner being forced to choose one or two people to bring along), now we don't even get to see how the teams are formed.

This comment really bums me out. Digs at a contestant's weight (based on nothing I can perceive) AND their cheering section?

Really bummed by Julia's overaggessive wager here. I was kind of surprised by how much she wagered on Double Jeopardy (just seemed like more than she would usually go for), but the FJ wager really overplayed her hand. Her wild card spot seems highly precarious, but I hope she makes it through.

I knew all the Superman clues, but I'll admit that Cavill took me the longest. Guess I haven't been completely successful in wiping that movie from my brain yet.

I was also disappointed to see the Washington DC football team as a response. Playing along at home, I answered "What is The Team Who Shall not be Named".

Woo did win immunity - he won the very first one right after the merge.

I was also surprised no one got Emily Blunt, but I guess her fame level is not what I thought it was.

I agree, though I like him for it. I feel like Brad saw Ken's clean-cut wholesome image and decided to go the opposite direction on purpose. All his cockiness seems to me like it has a wink beneath it.

Yep. He just needed to find that DD to prevent Leszek and Tom from doubling up.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one!
