That was an incredible reason, we’re such a pain in the ass.

I guess if it were only through a voice call, maybe, but if anything appeared in text, they could argue that you made it possible for an unauthorized person to access that information. Like, my husband has a top secret clearance and if I, even without him knowing or his permission, read his classified work shit, he

If all they have to do is be smarter than Sean Spicer they will remain the greatest American mystery since the unknown soldier in Arlington.

I suspect there is also some good, old-fashioned meeting in darkened corners going on, plus a lot of gossip. DC is socially incestuous. There is a lot of turn over with each new administration, but there is also a solid network of professional bureaucrats and journalists who have been there for decades, and they all

Oh this is smart. I wouldn’t have thought of this! Good thing I have nothing to leak.

It seems like the easiest way to do it is to use a spouse or family member whose number on a call log wouldn’t arouse suspicion in a three way call.

I was thinking about that this morning. Our only saving grace may be that Americans are a bunch of petty assholes.

According to the story personal phones were checked too, but here’s hoping the leakers are either smart enough to not use a device they carry at work to leak OR they’re super thorough about covering their tracks (deleting certain messaging apps between uses, erasing text messages and call logs as soon as they send

Quiet, comrade! Loose lips sink dictatorships!

Oh, they’ll try. But here’s the difference between Stalin and Hitler and Trump. Stalin had to deal with Russians. Hitler had to deal with Germans. Trump has to deal with Americans.

But they are all lies and Fake News so what makes them think it’s coming from someone inside? Can’t anyone make up lies?

So how long until we get to the Stalin-esque purges? Clearly the comms group is going to be the first to go.

It’s already begun to stop. They already quietly put through a bill, H.R.482, that forbids the feds from collecting any racial data on public housing demographics (key information, obviously, for figuring out how to implement the Fair Housing Act, among a zillion other things):

as a white person, i didn’t feel any tension from this. If someone says some group of white people are shit and you feel like they talk about you, you most likely belong to that group. The world doesn’t give a fuck about you or me or whomever, If you aren’t a white shithead don’t feel so fucking entiteled to think

No.

Jesus fucking Christ, enough of the lying bullshit.

Incidentally: feeling tense or guilty because you are white and live in a culture where systemic racism exists is not on the same level as having heightened fear for your life because you’re of color

As a white person: why do non-racist white people deserve to feel no tension?

This is really uplifting news. There has been a slight shift in philanthropy to start funding things programs and initiatives that address racial disparities and discrimination. In recent years, the federal government has issued opportunities to specifically address the needs of people of color. I have a feeling that
