I’d bet 90% of Trump supporters have no idea about Hillary’s background. I bet most would assume that she was born to some rich crooked business owner and used her daddy’s money to make some shady deals and eventually fund her way into politics.

Someone described it to me perfectly: This election is about a woman getting punished for not being perfect, and a man getting rewarded for being barely adequate.
Trump supporters are challenging my patience and capacity for empathy. I do the same as you - hoping to be enlightened by a perspective that I didn’t see because of my own limited worldview and biases...but NOPE! This assortment of ignorant, lazy, and insane rationales has nothing to offer me but a never-ending…
These “people explain why the voted for Trump” articles always, absolutely always, confirm for me exactly what I think Trump supporters are like. I really really hope each time to read a smart thoughtful reason, perhaps one where I simply don’t agree with the ideology, but no. It’s always either:
But see, that’s the point where my vision started to blur - If this particular post is indeed trolling, why is it that all of the other, assumed-to-be-sincere posts read no differently? Shouldn’t that, itself, be troublesome to Trump supporters?
Its the most amazing nonsense I have ever read. I don’t even hate the 3rd party voters that went for Stein as much as the idiots that voted for someone that was the direct opposite of what they stand for.

This. The false equivalencies this cycle were amazing.
ICP wouldn’t be caught dead anywhere near this fucker.
I’ve been joking about how Beyonce should agree to perform at the inauguration, and sing “Formation” and “Girls Run the World”, and just use the whole show to viciously shade President Trump. I wouldn’t have even thought of someone performing “Strange Fruit”.
While a lack of performers is perhaps the greatest insult…
I’m going to echo a sentiment I read on someone’s Facebook post last night regarding this.
If he’s down to asking UK X-Factor runners-up, things must be desperate. Don, old fella, if you let me do a cover Let’s Lynch the Landlord by Dead Kennedys, I’ll pay for my own flight to DC.
This song haunted me with a lot of emotion and chilling feelings, the kind of art that not only conveys the ideas it espouses but eviscerates the listener’s indifference and forces them to confront uncomfortable realities. I can honestly when I first heard it in high school I thought I was a progressive, forward…
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so gutturally, viscerally sickened and afraid than I felt the first time I heard this song (Nina Simone’s version) and then was told what it was about. It is truly a feeling I have never felt before or since. One of the most powerful pieces of art, in any form, in history.
Billie Holiday would only perform ‘Strange Fruit’ at the very end of the night, as her last song, since it made her so sad... She usually cried at the end.
I’m genuinely surprised they haven’t filled the slot yet; I have to think there are countless bands “of his ilk” (good ol’ boys/racists/etc.) that would give their left arm to play for him. Not to mention those groups would better align with his audience. Is his team just shooting too high?
Well played. When I read this last night I had no idea who she was, and then spent half an hour watching youtube videos of her. If her goal was to get name recognition in the U.S. AND smack down Trump, it’s worked.
I quite liked Rebecca Ferguson already and this ups that considerably. And she was so lacking in confidence when she started out on the X Factor (I mean, I know they really push all that ‘journey’ stuff but she could barely look up) that it’s doubly nice to see her deliver such a magnificent slapdown.
