His “New Deal” for black people is probably pretty much like his “Make America Great Again” which is a thinly veiled paean to the 1950s, when men were the breadwinners, women knew their place, kids respected their elders, and all the non-whites were supporting characters willing to be ordered around and condescended

All the other universes are laughing at us right now.

I got that- in theory. But in my reality, I can’t picture anyone who doesn’t embrace his or her racism being on the fence about voting for him. I legit thought being pro-Trump was essentially a way to ‘come out’ as a racist. If you feel that you aren’t racist, how could you stomach the thought of him?

Commentor Busslayer upthread summed it up best. It’s not about black voters, it’s about white voters. Specifically, it is about the white voters who are on the fence about casting their ballot for Trump due to his racism. This gives them the “out” they want. It soothes their nerves when they can say he reached out to

So just like when a bully in middle school notices a kid has something that could be useful to them and suddenly wants to be BFFs and and thinks their motive isn’t embarrassingly transparent, except is adult and aspiring to be leader of America. Okay.

He isn’t trying to play to black voters. He is pretending to play to black voters so white voters that he has horrified with his open racism will give him a second chance - “oh look, maybe Donald isn’t a raging racist asshole after all, I guess I can vote for him without having a guilty conscience.”

Some days this election makes me wonder if I’ve inadvertently taken acid and I’ve just been on a bad trip for like a year.

He’ll be in any minute under an assumed name to talk about how awesome he is.

They actually did do a poll of Trump voters asking them when America was last great. The most common answer was, wait for it, 1997. I wonder who they think was POTUS then.

Whenever you get mad at scott adams, it’s helpful to remember that he once posed as a fan on his own blog to support himself, and tried to play it off as some psychological experiment when he was inevitably discovered.

Carson seems likely — he seems to have trouble relating to people in general. Adams, though, seems to just hate women. It’s not that he can’t relate to all people, it’s that he hates women and relates to MRA men. Similar to the way that domestic abuser or rapists aren’t working out an anger management problem: they

First of all, facepalm forever.

They want to go back to, say, 1947. 1847

Nah, he’s normal sized. You want a more qualitative adjective like “worst” or “greatest” - though “greatest” would lead to some confusion for some readers.

I don’t know for sure but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. He certainly lacks the ability to pick up on social cues or human inflections and comedians (using the term liberally here) are famously bad at normal human interaction. He seems to be stuck in some kind of adolescent gamergate level of understanding of

BINGO! That’s the crux of it.

I am now very happy that I always hated Dilbert

I don’t get how they can use “progressive” as a bad word, when the opposite is “regressive” which is INHERENTLY BAD.

Everything he does or says reminds me of a robot pretending to be human. “Will this backwards hat make the human women love me? ZipZerp SJWs lol”
