Maybe we are referring to different cars? My 2015 m3 is a 4-door with a completely usable and generous back seat. My 2015 m3 is almost identical size to a 1997-2003 BMW 5-series - including rear seat room. I have sat 5 people comfortably in it for 30-60 minute drives. IT IS a tad stiff but actually has a pretty good -

Star for being 37. No other reason.

GM let people drive pre-prod vehicles. That’s pretty awesome and risky. Good for them.

Points for your astonishingly odd comment. For me a DD brings my kids to sports practice and straps them (2 at least) into the backseat. A DD conveys me thru snowy back roads with winter tires on. It drives me 300 miles in a day across highways and broken pavement regularly. I could go on.

My comment was mostly in jest since it’s a 4-door small car now called a gran coupe. I own a 2015 m3 since brand new and have 67k miles on it and it’s perfect and the best DD I can even imagine.

Welp, time to cancel my BMWCCA membership. I just can’t take their new products anymore.

I really despise the way we measure ground clearance. It’s not like the lift makes the wheels/tires bigger - there’s lots of critical components still in the exact same spot. Put another way: a Subaru Outback has 8.9" of ground clearance and much more effective ground clearance because of it’s wheel/tire combo as

I’ll just add for what it’s worth: I’ve owned an n54 and now own an S55 engine and I’m a BMWCCA member but not at all a fanboy.

The ~2010-2011 e90 335i x-drive is an excellent choice - especially with the 6MT. It’s a bulletproof version and an outstanding DD.

This entire article is filled with false premises, poor understanding of business practices, and poor understanding of how PE & Business Management work.

NP. People expect rare 35 year old vehicles in this price range to be without flaw. Hint: It doesn’t happen. This isn’t $30k porsche price range. Without any notable flaws, this would be a $10-15k car. It’s not priced that way; it’s priced in the right range where cleaning it up is going to cost $2-3k off the bat.

I just lost a 5 year monogamous and secret love for the rs7....

I have a 2015 m3 which has the predecessor engine to the B58/S58 shown here; My engine is known as the S55. It’s super reliable stock, very efficient, and very low maintenance. And it has no history of consuming oil and runs just fine off of synthetic 0w30/40 oils.

Former ‘01 M5 owner here -bought at 99k miles, sold at 125k 2 years later. DD year round for 2 years. Moved to a 2015 m3.

I test drove an x3m the other day while getting inspected. 505hp and a great combination.

I’m a big fan of the layout and weight distribution of the 911 along with RWD....

I take all my collected fluids, mix them together, add bleach for theatric effect, and then find the output side of the local wastewater treatment plant and pour it in ALA Batman Begins.

This entire series on Jalopnik is the equivalent of two aftermarket tuners throwing dyno numbers at each other from different dynos.
