Wow I had to go to Porsche’s website and study it really closely, as they beautifully crafted that rear diffuser, and even then I thought I was seeing some exhaust piping....but you are right. It’s a clever rear design. Ok, +1 Porsche on that.

I don’t own a Tesla and in fact i’m fairly close to being a Porsche fanboy.

I don’t understand - this is a totally viable way to clean a Jeep Wrangler.

Well I’ve owned Hondas, Subarus, BMWs, VWs, Volvos, and Jeeps....and yes, 65k with nothing but maintenance bettered than all. I also know that’s uncommon for BMW

FWIW, I’ve owned a 2015 m3 since August 22, 2014. One of the first made and now a tick over 5 years old and 65k miles driven year round including through snow. Single best, most fun, and most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned and that includes Hondas.

As a JLU 6mt owner, let me comment on two pieces of offroading:

That isn’t terrible.

Counter-argument: The m2 is the short wheelbase m3 coupe that should’ve always existed. The m4 never made any sense.

Just to clarify: I expect this hit was somewhere between 5-7mph right?

I used to care about top speed in my teenage years, then in my 20s I stopped and focused on other metrics, now in my 30s I care about top speed again....why?

I’m not a hardcore off-roader nor a hardcore outdoorsman. If you are the type of person who loves going far into the wilderness and staying there for extended periods of time, I get overlanding.

NP all day long - these are some fairly capable all-road/off-road vehicles. Not in the rock-crawling sense, but in the real world sense. Further, it has a ridiculous safety profile which has some value.

This type of system has been very popular on the 911 since porsche launched it.

I’ve owned my f80 m3 for 5 years and 64k miles.

3 days ago I flew with my wife and 3 kids, ages 11 months to 7 years.

Let’s all take a moment to enjoy the fact a pickup truck just slammed into a solid barrier at 40mph and the passenger compartment size/shape didn’t change and the driver slammed into a cocoon of air.

This is more than fair and I did mean to mention the time cost of repairs or even searching for parts. It’s not negligible.

Yes, you can buy a honda civic or toyota corolla like that. I’ll say that my experiences in those vehicles is your annual operating cost is going to be closer to $500-1000, but yes much lower than an e39 m5. Then again, those aren’t exactly comparable vehicles.

Had an e39 m5 and got intimately familiar with them. Let me give the approximate breakdown/comparison of how to do this:

Just want to say...
