On a related note: I’ve been thinking about buying a ~2008-2009 Subaru Outback XT 5mt. 10-11 year old models, 100k miles, clean - still like $10k. These are cars that sold for $25k brand new (I know; I bought a 2008 legacy gt 5mt brand new).

....on another note, why does Subaru have such a great impression of reliability and yet they cannot for the life of them build a reliable turbo engine OR an N/A flat four that will go 100k - consistently - without needing a new head gasket.

Subaru has walked away from it’s enthusiast base.

Yes, and then one day after many years of investment they wind up milking the cows for you. Just like giving to your 401k “drains your wallet”, there’s a long-term investment there but you’ve got to push the time in. 

Ever spend any time in the hospital or work in a hospital? For those who work there, you become used to the constant beeps, bongs, trills, disgusting things on the floor, interruptions, etc.

The problem with this design is that it still has windows. What’s the point? You could fit the entire cab in the space behind the hood, eliminating the area above hood-line, with room to spare and could have people inside drive with video screens alone and still have better visibility.

Yeah,I like to call what I once was and what will eventually be people responsible for caring for society “fuckers” too.
