I really wanted to NP this....but couldn’t with an automatic.
I really wanted to NP this....but couldn’t with an automatic.
I have a philosophy on full records:
I work with a CEO who is on his 6th stint I believe and just increased shareholder value by ~5x in about 2.5 years. Think about that for a second. Oh, and this is some mature markets (i.e. growth rates between 3-18% for the markets involved).
The correct answer is one of the most recent N/A Porsche’s you can buy in a manual transmission, preferably a Cayman. These are cars BUILT to be passed down - just outstanding build quality and those N/A engines need little to run forever except proper maintenance and to be redlined a bunch once warmed up.
I genuinely have no clue what those folks should be paid. When you are in a field where they are, say, 5 people on earth who have shown you can do what the board is asking you to do and it involves generating billions in profits a year - and growing those billions - what should you be paid? What if the company is…
You had me at $4-5k, but at $7k CP with multiple paint and body issues, non-functioning key interior electrics (i.e. seat tilt!), etc.
Great price for a parts car. If you were so inclined, you buy that and sell off what I’m sure are many wonderful components. There’s probably $20k in parts there to be sold over 3-4 years if you’ve got the space and inclination.
I’ve been one step below the CEO in 2 companies that grew revenues substantially. In one company, we went from 40 employees to ~160 in 8 years (and went from $15 million in revenue to $105 million). In another, $12 million to $19 million in 1.5 years.
Ok, I’m not going to defend or attack CEO pay packages, but I will add some balance here.
When I was 20 years old I had a 3 month landscaping gig. At about month 2.75, they asked me to drive a flatbed truck to a landscaping facility. There, a forklift loaded a pallet of 2'x2' thick landscaping tiles into the bed. These weigh ~80 pounds a piece and there were approximately 96 of them on the pallet IIRC.
“Yes, yes sir, that’s right, I’d like to change my order. I’ve decided I DO need the level 3 armor package on my vehicle. Why? YouTube videos.”
When I started reading the article I thought to myself “Well, now I’m less likely to buy a JL”
Did you own a 2007-2009 e92 or a 2010-2013 e92? The former was alot worse than the latter.
Why do people still believe stuff like this? A 2014+ 3-series is one of the most reliable and low maintenance vehicles BMW has ever produced. Yes, BMW dealerships remain among the worst of stealerships. Find an indy or DIY.
That’s a 7 year old vehicle that’s depreciated about 60% - sounds about right. Am I missing something?
Omg, I can’t believe I forgot: The 3-series has been lagging in suspension technology for quite awhile. It’s now supposed to have a truly revolutionary suspension tech. Please for love of God COMPARE IT to how something else drives. Don’t use descriptive adjectives (alone), put it in context for us.
$53k? What are they buying a stripper model?
Does the steering feel have feelings? Please include a comparison - not “it has some feel” but like “It feels somewhere between a 2005 e46 325i with sport package and a rented mule” - you know something the people can relate too.
Arach, #2 on my list was “2 decades of weak cooling systems” - what I meant by that was plastic impeller water pumps, radiator expansion tanks that fail, etc.
I have owned, since new, a 2015 f80 m3 with a 6mt and have put 55k DD miles on it. There’s alot the general automotive populace needs to know about this vehicle and transmission as it relates to future development and/or ownership:
