I have never rinsed my white rice, I use a 2:1 ratio, plus 1 tblspoon butter and a pinch or kosher salt - i never have had a problem. I only ever make 1 cup, but I bring it to boil in my 1qt pot, then just shut the burner off but leave the pot on. it’s perfect in like 25 minutes.
