im saying that the mentality of someone who would rather work than attend a party is the kind of mentality that has a chance of raising productivity and lowering costs across the full breadth of government programs and agencies.

Detroit’s suburbs are like a completely different planet when int comes to the schools. Most of Detroit’s most glaring problems end at 8 mile, in that regard. If you apply to Delphi here, or Fanuc (I think they still have a facility out near the GM tech center in Auburn Hills), you’ll have less than half an hour…
I live in Berkley and they are getting top school honors almost every year! I have no kids so it doesn’t matter to me, but it is a very nice and affordable family neighborhood.
