I’m not quite sure where GM falls on the transmission. The New ZL1 is using the same LT4 as the C7 Zo6, but its much less optimized shape might call for a 10-spd over the C7's 8-spd. Both have roughly the same shift performance. But then sports cars usually don’t need quite as many gears.
