They did.... It didn’t go well sadly. The Chevy SS is a Commodore. Ford didn’t however. The Chevy SS had 7k sales for 3 years. The Camaro had 244k sales in the same amount of time. They did this even before with the Pontiac G8, and Pontiac GTO(the 2000-ish one).
