It’s been decades since I’ve watched any of the original cartoon, but I think there was a sorceress who was only ever called Sorceress.

Elemental has actually shown some decent legs after its poor opening; it may end up “merely” a disappointment rather than an outright flop. The Flash might be a better comparison.

I am not even going to look that up, because I’m assuming it’s true and some aspect of its production will end up disappointing me even before they get started.

can we get back to arguing about the real issue with all of these remakes, which is: why?

And the anti-Oppenheimer movie, Barbie, also features copious nudity of its female and male leads, but since they’re Barbie and Ken that didn’t require an R rating.

I don’t know if that was the worst bit of dialog ever in a movie that was otherwise good, but it’s got to be in the running for that distinction, at least.

I think a better analogy would be if Alaska were shown as part of Russia, but still, that wouldn’t be enough to get it banned in the US, though it would provoke temper tantrums from a certain segment of the population.

I mean, if you’re expecting terms to have actual consistent meanings, sure. 

I honestly thought they were going to try giving it some clever name to disguise the fact that it’s AI, like Sonny David or something. That, or tell us one of the bylines we’ve been seeing here for the past several months has been AI all along.
