Yeah, it’s not a deathless classic, but it’s a fun movie that gets B+ marks in pretty much every department (though I’d grade the villains as B-, as I find the human villains irritatingly annoying rather than amusingly annoying). Well worth a watch, with or without the kids.

This video might merit a flashing lights warning, but it’s gotta be one of the most intense, joyful live performances I’ve seen.

Sometimes I think the AMPTP wants the writers, directors, and actors all on strike at the same time, so they can play hardball in negotiations and use the deal they get from the first guild to crack in order to browbeat the other guilds into accepting the same terms or worse.

(Confession time: Flood is still one of my favorite albums of all time, full stop.)

As mentioned in another comment, Disney could do a proper adaptation of the Chronicles of Prydain rather than jumbling together various bits from the first two books for one film a la The Black Cauldron...

This, really; it could easily be five films, one for each novel in the Chronicles of Prydain, plus a handful of shorts to adapt the related short stories from The Foundling.

I first read that as “Manny Mota” and was rather confused for a moment...

Well, the Pink Panther spoke in only a couple of the original shorts.

Oh dear, some studio executive somewhere has delusions of being a creative genius again.

Two of my favorite movies are Lawrence of Arabia (3h42m) and Sherlock Jr. (45m).

Johnny Bravo was one of those shows that I could never get into consistently, but every episode I’ve seen of it has ranged from amusing to genuinely terrific (“Date with an Antelope”, the Scooby Doo crossover, the Christmas episode). Maybe I ought to give a few of these a try as well.

If they want Trump to stop playing “YMCA”, all they need to do is thank him for playing one of the formative queer anthems at his rallies, spreading their message of tolerance and gay flirting to his loyal followers everywhere. I honestly don’t think Trump would care that much (he hosted the Log Cabin Republicans at

As obvious as the subhead is, it’s still just pitch perfect. And honestly, it is a cozy little skit.

Well, they best get crackin’ on it, then, since the AMTMP’s contracts with both the DGA and SAG-AFTRA expire on June 30. That might make it a bit harder to progress on any projects, script or no script.

Yes, yes, very nice, but when will Tennant reprise his role as the King of the Klondike, the richest duck in the world, $crooge McDuck?

The Ruby Tuesday in my town had a decent salad bar: small, but with a sufficient selection of items that the employees did a good job of keeping fresh. It was, of course, a casualty of the pandemic, while Chili’s and Golden Corral keep chugging along.

True, so leaving out animated films shortens the list by two. I’d still argue it would be better to include them; it’s not like there’s going to be many people going “No way am I checking out a slideshow with 36 entries; my limit is 34 or 35!”

Both films had overseas theatrical releases

There has been one (1) animated theatrical Marvel movie, and it’s nearly universally regarded as one of the top superhero movies made; to exclude it from the list because it was animated strikes me as deliberately propagating the “cartoons are for kids” dogma. (Though to be clear I don’t know that the writer

The introduction specifies theatrically-released movies, which unfortunately excludes the 1989 Punisher and 1990 Captain America movies. However, it doesn’t explain how they overlooked Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
