So correct. There were so many faults I completely forgot about the windshield wipers. After replacing the arms, blades, bending them myself, I gave up and used Rain-x only. Plus the headlights were the weakest of any modern car I’ve driven. Auto seatbelts. Sunroof. Window relays. JFC

Pictures are indeed great. Had a ‘90 G60 in some kind of blue pearl metallic, daily drove it for 8 years. A buddy had a yellow one like this. Looking back, I’m fond of the car, but can’t see myself owning another unless it was a 3rd+ car, or a project. Anyone who dailies a G60 today is a damn warrior, they are

Neat event, wish that was closer to me. Liked the Scrambler, LJ and FC. Amazing how the prices on clean Scramblers have crept up. Those 2As are so cool to see in person, as are any of the real old ones.

Probably is for me, although sounds like worn tires make a big difference. Finally drove a family member’s GT500 last weekend. With traction control on, warm Pilot Sport A/S 3’s, 65 degrees, a confrontational right hoof resulted in some loose-ish runs to 100+. No burnouts in the traditional sense, but the rear end was

Maybe I’ve been lucky, my interior doesn’t rattle/squeak. Knocks on wood. It does take a while to get used to the really long hood when parking, but it’s not tough once you get used to it. I actually found parking in reverse to be tougher since you feel like you’re 6 inches away from the end of the spot.

Right turn. They’re both great cars, but it’s amazing that the M Coupe can be had for <$30k even with decent miles. They brought only 1815 to US and there are >10x that many Caymans running around.

Bipolar, off meds, thought God was going to heal her:

I shudder with fear and start to sweat just reading the words 1781cc, G-lader and/or G60. Never again. CP

When will it be R8’s turn?

I like the new GT but would take the 996 if I had to get either of the two. Less common, more interesting, won’t go down in value much if at all. Scores higher on the beer test - sit down in your garage with a beer and just stare at the car, then measure your smile.

BMW Z4 M Coupe. Possibly at the bottom of the depreciation curve with only 1815 brought to US. A rare car with great performance and soul that constantly tries to punch you in the face that you can get for under 30k in some cases. Model in the link below has already had the expensive Inspection II done, so maintenance

Fear of injury. I have a good jack and four ESCO jack stands, but have never become comfortable with the fact that all that money is spent to trust that 2 or 4 1/2" pins are holding my car up with me under it. I did my last oil change and all the small work but am thinking of taking it somewhere for the CDV delete.

Couldn't agree more, clean E46 M3's are a strong buy at current prices. All the potential issues are known and you have a bunch of resources online to learn about them, prepare for them, and avoid them. Unless you live in Bumfuck, MS, there is likely a fellow owner within an hour of you who would gladly help you out

True about the boat ramp. Last July 4th, wife and I were in a hotel room with a balcony overlooking a boat ramp. There was a fireworks show across the river that night, and all day people were launching boats to get a good spot to watch the fireworks from. These were not people who launch their boats every weekend

I see the Jensen Interceptor house still has their Christmas lights up. Kind of surprising for Rancho Palos Verdes (I'm guessing). So instead of actually being Christmas lights, they must certainly be in preparation of celebrating some poor, unknowing hopeful soul with $32k in his pocket showing up and purchasing

Good point...there is no doubt apartment life and/or city life make it much harder. Spray stations are the best bet in some cases, and toting the cleaning tools back and forth just grows more hair on our chests. And if we get our pedals mixed up, at least we can run away.

That sucks. Reason number 8b that you never take a car you care about to a car wash. Damn. Most of the employees don't give a shit about your car. Your wheels may get scratched on the wheel thing. Brushes will scratch your car, if its not a touchless. It won't get clean, either way. They use the same 'drying'

I think clean 928 models have some more appreciation ahead of them. Fav's from this list are the 928S, 996 C2 and the 1985 Targa. Some good values all around here. Hope that tractor comes with protection, they can give you gonorrhea if you ride them in a bikini.

Thanks for the warnings and helpful info. I first learned about Virginia's speeding laws though Patrick's article, and was shocked. I live in a neighboring state and was clueless to their speeding laws, beyond the radar detector warning signs at the border. Five years ago I drove through the entire state of VA
