Hi, are you me? I stumbled upon Gawker in my early college days, all the way from fragile new domacracy of se europe (yes, communism fell in 1990, but we still got a long way to go to become really decent country). Jez was a true eye-opener at the time, a window to a different world, global community of commenters and

Eh. Personally, as a Black woman I wish she wouldn’t have used the N word, even with an ‘a’. That bothers me a lot more than a few flowery words that have no real impact. As a non famous Black person, I have to navigate through a world where non Blacks use it because she and other Black celebrities do.

I wish things would go back to how they were when I spent my evenings (I live in europe) going back and forth between splinter, jezebel and gizmodo, hoping for new content and notifications that someone replied to my post. Instead of how it is now, surprise and mild disbelief that jezebel is still up and most comments

All I noticed was the area of natural forehead above her botox zone.

This is a pretty good play by play of how it ended. Basically they told the staff to stick to sports. The staff rebelled By posting non sports stories. The herbs fired Barry and that was it.

Every man has two deaths, when he is buried in the ground and the last time someone says his name. In some ways men can be immortal. - Ernest Hemingway

Concourse post, comments work!

Crooked Media (folks behind Pod Saves America) has a new daily podcast called What a Day. They did a great job summarizing what is going on with Deadspin and G/O.

This comment is about nothing. Just wanting to celebrate the ability to post a comment while it’s still possible.

Leftovers was excellent. Let LOST go.

Yeah, do not like.

I know I’m going to regret this, but . . . I’ve subscribed to Vogue for 25 years. I actually read it for the articles about books, theatre, the personal stories, even the fitness stories. Occasionally, the cover story will be interesting and I’ll read that, too. The clothes are secondary to me. The journalism is

She’s a legacy model. I mean, come on,  those genes.

Man, I love people who self-own through being hilariously inept. You know, pumpkin thieves, thin-skinned vulture capitalist owners of blog sites, those kinds of folks.
