Actually, if you read up on the 4-speed that came with the 2.8, it'll hold quite a bit of power. As for the drive shafts, yeah they might need to get beefed up a bit. The big change on these cars needs to be the brakes and the cooling.

The biggest concern is overheating. 400's liked to overheat as is. I hope he found a way to cool it.
