I wouldn't say "Britpop" is so much positive or negative as just having no real meaning at all, at least in the context of the UK. It just seems a very arbitrary designation.

Maybe I'm being naive, but I'd have thought their purpose was to stop their music being used as an instrument of psychological torture? If I was in a band, I would be very strongly opposed to my music being used in that way.
