I am sorry but the Taarna segment was not the best segment. The beter vignettes were the John Candy voiced boy transported to the other world, the cab driver segment, and the Captain on trial segment.

I also never got the Led Zepplin comparisons, I hear a lot more Black Sabbath in Soundgarden than Zepplin.

Soundgarden were always first and foremost a metal band as much as they may have denied it at the time. The late 80's growth of glam metal made metal a bad word, but Alice In Chains and Soundgarden were both metal bands. Nirvana and Mudhoney were grunge and Pearl Jam just sucked.

"Walter White dies at the end of Breaking Bad." That is a perfect example of the type of statement that is not an important spoiler.

He was Captain Jean-Luc Picard before Professor X.

I really liked the import Spy.

I assume the "up and coming" was irony.

Another way of writing this is that the basic plot and emotional core of the movie is so sickeningly, saccharine sweet that it needed the gross-out humor so as to not totally turn off its audience.

I'm surprised they aren't suing the kid's family like they did those poor guys with the ATHF marketing.

Oh please. Try watching an episode.

"For me, “Pamela (Part 3)” sets its ceiling at a B+ as soon as Pamela
asks Louie why Janet is black and Jane and Lilly are white. We can’t
just accept this as a casting choice?)"

Andrew Lloyd Webber has always been and always will be a hack. Further, musicals based upon successful hollywood films always suck as well.

Those feeling the violence obviously may not care. I was just contradicting the statement that the show is behind modern times. Overall in both the US and on a global scale modern times are less violent than olden times. From country to country, this may vary internally, but for every country that is more violent

Behind modern times. Globally, we live in one of the least violent historical times ever.

The poorest Americans are definitely NOT in the top 1%. I could make a bigger argument, but based upon numbers alone, if the world population is 7B, then the top 1% is 70M people. Even then, there is a lot of very real, third world like poverty in the US.

Theroretically, I love this show. It only exploits people who should be exploited. I just imagine the reality is more dull than cringe-inducing.

The song is not terribly strong, but that was one of the best albums of 2003.

Are you kidding with that Hiot Fuzz comment? I thought it surpassed Shaun of the Dead

??? Where does Adult Swim come into this?

Two more seasons on FX only keeps it there through 2016.
