This is my thinking as well. As a daily driver it’s great. Still gives me plenty of ability to tow car trailer with ease occasionally without the extra expense of a F250 diesel. I have a ‘13 ecoboost and love it. With a single car behind me I can hardly tell compared to my old truck.

Honestly I tow so infrequently it is well worth the mileage for everyday use and just take those few weekends a year where it is hauling the hit. Also, I’ve gotten 14.5 mpg towing the racecar, so that’s not too bad.

Man this makes it hard to not trade in my 2013 F150. Ford has made an amazing amount of improvement since then. With this boost in towing capacity it puts it in the range for towing a two car trailer to the track, which would be really nice.

He didn’t fire her. He offered her another position because her current position wasn’t of value. She declined it. It says so right there in the article. Did you read it?

So, because he’s a billionaire, he should just give every person whatever raise he/she asks for? That’s not a very good path to stay a billionaire.

Sounds like a typical scientist/engineer. They look at the data (can he function without her) and make a decision based on the data (yes, he can) and people’s feelings don’t matter.

So what? The government has decided to subsidize certain kinds of industry to incentivize its growth, accelerate technological development, establish market leadership, and create jobs. Lots of other businesses get the same kind of help for things that are a lot less radical in their effect. And yes, the government

How do you define subsidies? SpaceX is the low cost provider in the satellite business. He’s providing the same service that Boeing and Lockheed, two of the biggest defense contractors, charge the government more for. Those companies receive government money that DWARFS anything SpaceX has ever gotten.

I grew up in Flint. Uncles and aunts worked for GM - so obviously they were UAW. I remember my uncles staying at home sleeping all day while their buddies clocked them in and out. It took a couple years, but GM finally caught on to this, so then they started a massive crackdown in plants to make sure those workers

You’re on point with this. Also, it provides an asylum for underperforming employees. Not the ones that genuinely need help to catch up to speed, but the ones that think they can fuck off and get away with it. The result is shitty products that can’t compete, but you are still bound by union contract, so you can’t

So much this, it is unfortunate. As for the 300MM project, the union bosses still made their money. Off the backs of those who didn’t.

The UAW have themselves to blame. They have created a “Us vs Them” mentality between auto works and manufacturers over the years. The “I’ll take this company down if they don’t give me what I want” mentality is so ingrained in the UAW membership, why on Earth would any auto manufacturer want them? Why did the lose

I was taught to wait until a woman offers her hand, as well. On the rare occasion I forget and put my hand out first, I have gotten some stink-eye, so it’s obviously still a thing with my generation (I’m in my late 40s).

I’m in a female dominated field, and women usually hug each other. That makes it really weird when it’s time for me (for both parties), a hug feels weird, but a handshake feels like it’s putting me on a lower tier.

All I get from this is that you have issues that you’re unwilling to confront. If this is such a big deal, maybe it isn’t about a stupid handshake and a lot more with feeling like you’re just never going to be part of that world.

Keeping right unless passing is actually the law in a few states. It is rarely enforced. That’s the real issue.

It is pretty surprising!

510 lb-ft of torque is a substantial difference than 434 lb-ft. The EBs make gobs of torque low down too. The 6.2 was still powerful, but can’t compete with the 3.5.

I know I’m in the minority, but I think the 3800's are on my top 3 of worst sounding engines of all time.

I’d rather have the instant torque and more power from the 3.5 EB than the noise from the 6.2. Now if they’d make a 5.0 EB for it....
