Cadillac gets a lot of guff for pricing their cars so close to their German rivals, but if any car deserves it, it's the V models. With a zero to 60 mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 185 mph, this ATS-V sounds like a nasty American performance machine. Let's see how buyers respond to it.

"I'm 27. I've bought 2 CTS-Vs in the past, and own an ATS. Unlike you it seems, I don't allow stereotypes to control what I enjoy in life."

The average new car buyer in the US is 52. Younger people tend to have that issue of "not having very much money."

Will you actually buy one?

I realize the C-Pillars are different, but I immediately thought of Honda Accord Coupe before my eyes moved to the front.

Ok, so Cadillac seems to think they need to compete on price point, and that their product is good enough to compete at the same price point. The only problem is that they are missing one glaring advantage they can have, a lower price point. Why is this an advantage? It can make the car easier to buy. Now, normally in

While I agree that American cars haven't got a fantastic reputation over here, I think that there are two other factors that really matters:

People w0uldn't want to buy a GM product 10 years ago (outside of trucks/SUVs), they were absolute crud. Chevrolet Cobalt, Malibu, Aveo, Impala, Monte Carlo.

My thought on the Bolt vs. Model III. Regardless of the Bolt coming out first and being $5k less than the MIII people will still wait and line up for the Tesla. The brand has become the Apple of the automotive world. Even if it cost more than the competition for similar specs people will choose one over the other for

Why is every woman hard wired to just push all the vents to the most extreme position when the temperature does not suit them. Mothers, wifes, sisters, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!?!

How do you think Ford and the UAW will handle these contracts?

Finally...someone that knows what they are talking about. If that dealer shop told me it will take 20hrs I would've told them to replace it. I would guess it's about half the labor time to replace and you don't have panel full of filler. I don't want a 20 hr worked panel on my vehicle. Just replace it for less and

Well, that's assuming that the steel would have dented the same as the aluminum. Realistically, the steel would have dented worse. Not bad enough to make up the $1,800 difference in the costs, but it's probably worth noting.

there's a difference between wanting a V8 in your truck and haughtily spouting off that trucks require a V8. I mean, all of those heavy haulers, tractor trailers and the like seem to get by just fine with 6 cylinders.

Yet the 300 six was one of the more revered Ford truck engines. "Trucks need V8s" is marketing to the insecure.

High strung? The current Ecoboost makes max torque at 2500 RPM and winds up to 6k. My tach needle rarely goes past 3000 RPM because the torque comes on so early in the rev band. The 6.2L V8 is more high strung than the Ecoboost you have to wind it up before it hits max torque.

And a metric buttload more torque.

I don't think any degree of physical fitness, aside possibly from cardio which keeps your heart from simply shitting the bed under too much stress, is going to help when physics is that much at play. Inertia doesn't really give a shit if you're all buff, he just got damn lucky with a hefty dose of good engineering

"Old ideas give way slowly; for they are more than abstract logical forms and categories. They are habits, predispositions, deeply ingrained attitudes of aversion and preference."

It is absolutely needed. BMW and MB both have performance variants of everything, and it lends so much credibility. And between the sales and publicity and reviews, it is worth it.
