This is a problem with the 2.5L Turbo in my 2019 Signature as well. I drove from Alberta to Manitoba twice this summer and got a not-great 11.5 L/100km average with cruise set at 127. If i dropped it down 10km/hr the consumption got way better because it wasn’t revving as high.

In between the 3 and the CX-5 I had an ‘18 Forester (last year of the manual).  Even with the manual and a 2.5 flat four it was not as fun as my CX-5 with the 2.5 and an auto.  I’d like to get another manual runabout before they cease to exist.  If Toyota offered the 4Runner with a manual I’d buy one.

I had that set up in a 3 hatchback.  It was lovely.  The take rate was super low on the CX-5's and with the extra weight you really do want the 2.5.

People in Canada, especially Quebec, actually buy lots of bottom feeder trim cars.

Jeep left it on as an “option” so they could make towing capacity and horsepower claims, and nothing more.

They might not care about the cars, but they care about money... it’s way cheaper to have cars for sale than to have all of your cars scrapped, have nothing to sell while waiting for new cars, and also go through all the time and paperwork for the insurance company...

Well car salesmen are dumb AF, so I’m not surprised they’re relying on “AI”, which is 100% artificial and 0% intelligent, to make their pricing decisions for them.

All 3 of these cars share the same quadruple red circle taillights that the Impala does, and people joke that at night/for the uninitiated they could be mistaken as an Impala.

Why should it cost less than a compact truck? The Miata is a pleasure vehicle. It’s not meant to be “utilitarian”. Pleasure things generally cost more, not less.
