Dodge was into it, too. You could very easily build a 350hp Neon with the Stage 3 kit, a complete set of parts straight from Dodge. It was reliable, too. I installed the 285hp Stage 2 kit on my own SRT-4 as soon as it was available in early 2004. I’m still driving it today at over 246K miles! With a few other things

As someone who worked at a tuner shop in the late 90s/early 2000s, I greatly appreciate you posting this link

It’s hard for my 2024 brain to accept that there was a time not long ago where domestic manufacturers not only built and sold small cars, but also sold factory performance parts for them.

I know it is childish of me to laugh at Tesla-ites experiencing the consequences of their bad choices but... I mean, it is just so much fun though.

Yep, that was kind of my whole point. This is going to be how any case like this is dealt with. “See the disclaimer? The driver touched their phone, not our systems problem!”

The Hellcat continues to be one of the worst things to have ever happened to the world at large.

There are attorneys who will take this case on contingency, so the family’s financial resources shouldn’t be much of an issue.

We as people hope our fell individuals act in a safe manner, but then when one of them doesn’t, those individuals blame corporations instead of taking accountability.

Car dealerships will jack up prices and blame the bridge collapse by this afternoon.

It was pretty uninspiring to drive, though, while the RDX was actually quite fun. My GF had a Mazda CX-7 and it was...fine. A bit plasticky inside, but overall just...fine. It had...acceleration, sort of. It was roomy for its size. It didn’t fall off of curves, but it didn’t really enjoy them, either. I had an Acura

Ford made the hybrid a $1500 for 2 reasons. One, to decrease the number of hybrids ordered because they can’t keep up with demand. Two, because they can and they love price increases. I was lucky in that i ordered a 2023 hybrid which didn’t get built so my order was rolled into a 2024 and was price protected so i

If I’m $0.01 off I’m going mad trying to figure it out, usually ends up being a rounding error in my mortgage so it was a random cent lower one payment.

The cost of the battery material went up 4 fold since the maverick was a standard option hybrid. That may play a part in it.

The Maverick USED to be standard as a Hybrid, now it’s the option powertrain and you have to pay more.  Still a great value but the turbo motor is now standard.

Third time is the charm X2 I guess.

How long before that post is taken down and Matt Haskell’s account is closed for violating Xitter’s Terms and Conditions... those T&C’s being whatever Musk says they are at any given moment.

Agreed.

First one across the starting line wins, I would have low expectations for that comparison.

This. The chase for eternal growth through continual cost-cutting so you can reward shareholders is what leads to failure. Boeing is the greatest example, although their story is still being written.

Time for a Fisker  and Vinfast comparison test, battle of the half-baked EV.
