Axial makes a lot of reasonably priced 1/24 scale RTR or “ready to run” models, meaning they come with everything you’ll need to get started wheras a lot of things that are not RTR are really just kits missing a lot of the stuff you’ll actually need to get going. Those are for more true enthusiasts.

I make semiconductors so my first thought was ‘that is a huge tolerance’ and for me it is since things are ~10nm in my world but I take your point about making a car with that limitation. shutting a door too hard would compromise that.

This is why body panels have slots. Usually the tolerances are like 1/16” or 1/32", not 0.001 mm. Those are more like machined engine part tolerances.

I wonder if the truck is supposed to have those tolerances in Death Valley in summer or in Alaska in winter - I don’t think it can have both.

I test materials for high purity process orbital welding and we don’t even get to those tolerances. Every time he pretends to be an engineer or manufacturing genius I have to laugh. If this is indicative of their work and QC, they’re going to be in a world of hurt.
