You know what’s funny? Porsche targeting Tesla is actually like a Sith (Tesla) luring a Jedi (Porsche) into the dark side. If Porsce succeeds with the Mission E, Tesla succeeds. Their mission is to fight the combustion cars, not other electrics.

The only reason Tesla isn’t making a profit on paper is because they spent $5 billion on the Gigafactory. The Model S and Model X are priced to be about 20-25% profitable at current volumes. I believe that’s a higher profit margin than most normal gas cars.

It would seem that such an understanding of the story is well beyond the cognitive capabilities of most people, regardless of what one might think of the Iran deal as a whole.

Perhaps the sanctions and financial industry restrictions made it more difficult to wire the money there.

I’d like to read that explanation, but it is longer than 140 characters, and seems to contain a substance called “nuance” that I hear is important in international diplomacy, but which just confuses me.

Dang it, Meg Whitman. Don’t make me try to like you.

I’d be enjoying the Trump shitshow if I wasn’t genuinely terrified that he could win the election. His campaign has done everything wrong and yet it’s still going along.

And the VP baton gets passed seamlessly from the hands of “Uncle Joe” to the seeking hands of “Like My Dad Kaine” and all is right with the world once again.

Not an American so I’m probably completely wrong here, but from the outside it seems like a Clinton presidency would just be Obama 2.0 whereas a Trump presidency could be catastrophic.

Why the camo pictures in the press release? Do they want the thing seen or not?

If Tesla can sell batteries for $100/kwh vs Mercedes’ projection of $220/kwh, then a 212 hwh battery would cost a municipality $25k less per truck for the same range. You better believe your city will be considering the Tesla above all else at that point.

Her platform is exactly the opposite on big business. She has no intention of handing over subsidies. And we will likely continue dealing with ISIS, but at least it won’t be WWIII. And we’re going to have to deal with ISIS regardless of our desires for peace.

You’ll be entirely wrong about SCOTUS holding up gay rights,

I was coming here to make the same point. I test drove a Leaf (thought it might be worth the fuel savings, it wasn’t), the salesman was a complete oaf that didn’t know anything about the car. Then I test drove a Tesla and the “salesman” was more like a friend that was just showing me all the cool things about the car.

Actually you bring up a very good point. Search the Leaf forums. Nissan dealers are universally reviled as being completely ignorant of the Leaf, reluctant to sell it, and often times actively attempt to steer sales to other cars.

I don’t think you quiet get logic.

Did you read the story? It specifically said some information was altered while other information was added after the fact.

Ok, you speak with authority, so I will now accept that as truth.

You mean she didn’t pick somebody who’s been known to her since the 90's, has a good track record as a Mayor/Governor/Senator and is fairly similar in views due to her own volition but did see because of some secret conspiracy set up by the DNC?

I know that when I’m hiring someone for my own company, my first inquiry is not “are you competant? Are you qualified?” Instead it’s “are you interesting??”

He’s not an exciting choice, but he’s a practical choice. I’m okay with this.
