The miles are awful high, and the stitching on the seats is unpleasant, but to each their own. For someone not afraid of doing maintenance, it’s not an awful deal.

God, I love that much orange. It’s bright and vibrant, everything the Mustang II isn’t.
This abomination is seriously criminal.
An unfortunate vehicle. But man, I would consider doing unspeakable things for a solid set of toggle switches.
All of these gems for sale in the world, and I spent too much money buying a teeny little city car. Now I have something else to do today, browsing west coast Craigslists for fun-to-drive beaters.
All cars should be liftbacks. Fact.
I got to 106 in my Mazda2 hatch, pretty close to Vne for that little tic tac. It felt like I was going to take off, which briefly happened when I crested a rather sharp hill. For that 100hp beast, I consider Mach 1 about 80. Mach 2 is probably 100, and because it’s a beater it’s incapable of Mach 3. No SR71s here.
I ran my Mazda2 through a Colorado blizzard back in February, and it felt so electrifying. Talk about being on edge, I was sustaining 55-60 mph until a semi passed me doing 80.
3rd Gear: For the love of God, Boeing and FAA. Get it together. What a joke, coming from a monumental aircraft builder. And the FAA, I can’t even convey the blatant corruption and absurdity this whole fiasco is portraying.
Wow, I dig the brief education lesson. As I’m eyeing an N-Line Elantra GT (6-speed, of course), so knowing it takes mods well is solid info. I like what Hyundai is doing these days, and if they bring more N-Line and N cars stateside I think they’ll do real well.
Agreed on the 2nd Gen. I used every square inch of that interior on several occasions, and even when I was running 2,000 miles a month it never had an issue. All that, and 34 average MPG.
I’m psyched to see Mustard on Jalopnik! Worlds collide! I totally agree, I love Mustard’s videos and I do appreciate his fairly monotonous voice. Strikes me as scientifically unbiased and informational.
Somebody’s been watching Mr. Mustard!! Let me tell you, his videos are fantastic! They’re usually about transport topics, but they’re well-written and detailed! Check them out!
I found myself cackling and giggling like a fiend as I read the article. The car sounds just uncanny, and as someone who’s only driven small, underpowered, front-drive cars, this massive (in several ways) GT500 just sounds like a comic book. That said, the Mustang I’d probably rather enjoy is the GT350, but holy cow…
I was just thinking that. I love Mazda but can’t support their decision here. And I really want a Hyundai N-Line car, but I’ll put my money toward one of those four automakers, I think.
I actually really liked this.
If it was clean, I’d be scrounging through my jean pockets for cash. Probably about $6,000 cash, not $7,800, but it would be a great find.
This WCSYB speaks to me too, as I am jotting all the selections down (except the Century, sorry Torch) for my own considerations. I, too, drive relatively mundane rides though I love the slow-car-fast mentality (as a driver of a 5-speed, 100-hp Mazda2 I *really* embrace it).
I remember the Gen1 Fit had to have a unique nose extension built onto it to get the car to pass crash regs here in the States, which I was bummed about (not that bummed, as I still bought a Gen2 and loved it). Now, with the Civic edging into the 40 mpg real-world ratings, the Fit would need a thorough working over to…
I’m a Sac native and grew up with a Good Day. They’ve always been more casual, more charismatic than a staid network station, but for every bit they’ve been goofy they’ve largely been respectful. This is just appalling, and I’ve never heard of this Angel guy either. Good riddance.
