Expecting more people than usual this year. Bought a 28 pound fresh turkey. By my calculations it should have to cook for 7 hours. But online I'm reading 4.5- 5 hours is sufficient. That true? At 15 minutes a pound that doesn't seem long enough.

Regarding "how you get into the sport" again....so you get into it young. But did you as a little kid want to do it, is it something you parents signed you up for? I ask because I'm not sure I know anybody who's done it.
