A CDL is required when towing anything more than 10k lbs” - Citation needed

You’re also comparing the NGDV with AC to the LLV without AC. If you look at the EPA letter, the NGDV without AC is estimated at 14.7mpg on route.

I think it’s a little disingenuous to compare EPA75 to what a typical postal vehicle gets driven like, especially on the rural routes.

It seems it’s really easy for people to just say “hur dur, they just make hellcats” and completely forget about the Euro market and the Jeep push with 4xe.

Also another fun tidbit of knowledge, from 4matic pan has the same part number for both gas and diesel I6s. This makes a US 300TD 4MATIC something that can be pieced together. Or in my dreams, a 350Td 4MATIC

Something to consider as well, OBD only relates to emissions-releasing powertrains. Diagnostics are going to be really interesting on EVs.

Fanatec has been successfully pivoting to the midgrade+ realm of sim hardware for a while now, introducing higher-end components at much more budget friendly prices. When I bought my GT2 wheel from them around 8 years ago, the higher end sim rig stuff was many thousands of dollars and required serious tinkering to get

The other thing about these tests that I do not think people know is that they are done at GVWR.

The 2.4L was very underwhelming when I drove one as well, feels like you had to wind it out to go anywhere. I wonder if the 1.3L is any better with more low-end torque.

Having had to work with the Italians on products at work, they are very proud of what they make, especially when it’s relatively good. I would imagine this is tied to that mindset a bit.

Most OEMs that I know of will not run EVAP tests in colder environments, especially far below freezing, as there are CARB alleviations for this region as it poses a high risk for reliably diagnosing the system. There are also provisions to set EVAP readiness in theses conditions as to not fail a OBD port emissions

This comment section so far shows how far this site has fallen, just a bunch of boomers yelling at clouds.

So you removed all the portions of the software that dictate when the MIL is enabled when you did a cat deleat? Thats pretty impressive

It’ll flash only when there is cat damage misfire, thus jeopardizing the main emissions controls device

Looking at the comments, its really staggering that a mojority of car people don’t know that the check engine light is only for emissions relavent diagnostics, and has very strict usage limits on when and how it can be turned on/off.

The check engine light is only for emissions relevent systems anyways, at least by regulation.

It’s not new to the C8, I know at least the C7 Z06 and ZR1 both had it as well.

Also means its the perfect time to support local stores and do some of the small maitinence or fix issues that have been on the “Eh, I’ll get to it eventually” list

Make more use out of this car (350D on African Taxi Springs)

I agree on your last point, it blows me away at how some people vote.
