After a short hiatus, I am back! I’ve been busy with getting my post-grad life situated, and this is what I’ve been doing since I was on last:
Well, I did it again. I found a deal on a car that I couldn’t pass up, so I didn’t. It’s a ‘95 S350 TD that smokes like the freight train that it is, but the price was right. Going to be doing a compression test and pulling the turbo tonight. No oil in the coolant, or oil in the oil, as it’s all in the air or on the…
The Nissan Pulsar reminded my of a couple cars that I want, and are very reasonably priced, if only they came up for sale. So whats your unicorn?
So, I am hunting for a diesel merc for a new DD around Michigan, and ZOMG so many cars I need. Here are the more interesting ones:
In case anybody is curiuos about how much it took to fit the M50 into an MGB,
I saw this car parked at it’s workplace while I was visiting, and I had to slow down both times I passed it. It was one of the most unexpected sights I have seen in michigan, especially at the place it was parked. It is silver, has some sort of stripes on it, and it had a turbo bellmouth inlet in the right front fog…
After some more massaging of the firewall and trans tunnel, the M50B25 sits in the chassis with the hood closed. Lots of work left to get her road worthy, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
It took a fair amount of cutting, but as of tonight the M50B25 is sitting in the chassis.
Went and picked up the engine this morning, and now I’m stripping the crappy rattle job off the engine bay.
You put a little German in it! I just bought an M50B25 drivetrain out of a e36 325, and it’s going into a 74 MGB this weekend.
