Boomer Alert: An E-Ticket will always mean one of the elite rides at Disneyland to me, even though tickets for rides were phased out while I was a child for an all inclusive entrance fee while I was a child.

I’ve got a good test, too. I order what looks good to me on the menu. My wife orders what looks good to her. If we both like what we ordered, we judge it to be a good restaurant. Hasn’t failed us yet.
This is why we cannot have nice things
“Social media is the second worst thing to happen to this society after 24x7 news channels. Both feed the worst parts of humanity.”
This is what happens when you protect dumb children too much. They grow up to be dumb adults.
I think most normal adults of the type who are capable of designing bridges look at something like that and don’t even think about the sort of moron you would have to be to want to skateboard down them for the clicks.
“LAPD Chief Michel Moore is nearly out of ideas.”
Actually prosecuting those that are arrested would be helpful. Of course that’s up to the DA, not the police chief.
I will crush my enemies,
I read an article where they quoted an LA official actually saying they had no idea this might happen. With brains like that, I have a half-billion dollar bridge I’d like to sell him.
Raise stupid people, get stupid behavior.
The consequences need to be real and impactful and that might require creative thinking but something’s got to give with life as we know it; nobody gives a flying fuck.
Oh I think you can enforce your way out of it. If the penalties are harsh enough it will eventually stop. Seems lame to stop after only impounding 6 cars. Sit a cop car on either end of that bridge 24/7 and lock em up and take their stuff if they do anything stupid.
There are so many other things to do beyond what you list.
It’s not an investment. It’s gambling. Gambling is a form of entertainment.
When the jackpot gets big enough to be in the news, I buy tickets. For me, it’s worth a few bucks to have the chance to win, and to dream about what you’d do with the winnings. Dreaming about $1000 isn’t worth a dollar to me. I don’t dream…
While we should be dealing in accurate numbers, I wouldn’t put “only” and “9K” together. For a lot of people, that’s “Welp, time for a new car” money.
Focusing on ‘boomers’ is really starting to get a bit much on this site. You think they’re the problem right now? That they’re the ones pushing this kind of thing? God no - Gen X and Millennials are every bit as bad. And probably worse for at this point. I get that it’s depressing to confront the fact that it’s “our…
Welllll, they kinda are.....who else would read this shit? It’s not innovative journalism or WSJ analysis of current economic events. Most of it isn’t even original, it’s a rehash of something they googled last night. It’s like most of the internet and social media, made for the teeming masses. It’s really speaking to…
I’m not going to mention the stores I frequent, but the ones that align culinarily with the brand don’t seem to be short on any of the cock-branded condiments, with best-by dates at least 18 months out.
I had no idea there was a shortage. I have a mostly full bottle from September of last year. Opening bid is $250.
In a free market, using open and honest practices to maximize profit is a company’s job, as the author points out. To an Exxon shareholder, it’s an expectation. Considering supply and demand can result in higher profit, and most corporations aren’t engaged in deceptive practices, price gouging, etc. (monitored by…
