“Yup. Looks like brake fluid.”

Son decided to change the struts on his Honda CR-V. They were working okay, but they had 150k on them. Looked easy enough on Youtube, right? He couldn’t get things back together and ended up calling a friend. They got it... working, but there was a nasty shimmy. Got it aligned, didn’t help much.

For what it’s worth, with the advent of DLP projectors (halogen bulb, DLP unit, rapidly spinning color wheel) I don’t think Sarnoff was a villain when he pushed all-electronic color. YMMV, of course - but the DLP projectors were just a stopgap until they could get decent color LCD panels that’d do the job... and now

Well, they turned that mountain into gravel, so they kinda ‘mushed’ it...

Plus above a certain limit (which I think at 50 MT the Tsar Bomba was over) more blast goes UP out of the atmosphere than OUT. Yeah, it was a real city-killer (and would likely take out Rhode Island w/no survivors...) but it wasn’t an especially efficient weapon.

There’s a reason we used the Nevada Test site for these things. I think it’s maybe a third of the size of NK?

It’s not easy to contain underground nukes. It’s REALLY rough on granite. It can take a number of shots - but at some point it’s basically going to turn into large gravel. And they didn’t have all that much separation between their attempts, apparently.

Since when did HTML care about ME? I’m not going to bother caring about IT!

This. Some fuckers love to micromanage others.

Yeah, it takes SO damn long to go “Search for Two Spaces” and “Replace with One Space” globally in a document. What are you using, Linotype slugs?

Sociologists...

The ending sucked. Bigtime. I didn’t play it all the way through - stopped short of the finale. The Citaldel DLC was a nice apology, I think.

Eh, don’t know. It’s a beautiful game - but there’s something that just not grabbing me like the original one did.

Tried this last night. It didn’t look great, but when I mashed it all up it worked fine as far as I was concerned.

There’s definitely neighbors I don’t want to see naked.

Bearing R&D - the lower the resistance in a moving system, the better. Think about trailer wheels, computer fans, car engines, conveyor belts, jet engines - everything that uses bearings of any sort would benefit.

Not a damned thing.

“Will Robinson finds the robot out in the wilderness, indicating that it’s actually an intelligent lifeform existing on its own.”

Conveeeniently placed, wouldn’t you say? (Grin.)
