You missed a facet of MAD - the USSR didn’t use nukes on NATO countries out of worries of retaliation.

MAD works when both players are rational - for certain values of rational which actually includes the survival of the country as a political and military entity.

I agree - there’s a number of ways to attack. It all depends on how smart they are, and how innovative they’re willing to be.

I said it’s a mess, and implied there’s a lot of ways the shit can hit the fan. If you don’t like that, then obviously ‘I don’t know what I’m talking about’ - which seems to be the go-to statement on Gizmodo when any sort of disagreement comes up. Quite persuasive, you know.
