If I recall correctly, there was a war in the late 1990's or something - the ‘Eugenics Wars’, where Khan and a bunch of others were sent off in suspended animation. And a worldwide depression (mentioned in a Voyager episode) where things went to shit for a couple of decades, but then things got better. It’s not

“Yes, I’m sorry to tell you that you’ve got injury-related penile arthritis.”

Pretty much...

Saw 20C swings in Wyoming in the ‘70s. Early ‘80s in lower Nevada the temp was about 45F, then a gray line of clouds came from the NW. Team lead had us break down the equipment and put it away, and we’d just gotten it back in the truck when a snow squall hit. Had about an inch of snow thirty minutes later.

To me, the Peter Cushing CGI looked too ‘plump’. His face needed to be thinner, almost skeletal.

Yep.

Great. Another remake.

I thought that was Tom Cruise on a motorcycle?

Fucking Onion Ninjas...

I agree - I remember in the early ‘90s when the front section of Epcot was all about the Internet and its possibilities... but now? Mostly vacant.

“Okay, THAT problem’s handled! What’s next?”

You can usually tell the difference between people doing something for a paycheck and people doing something for love... AND a paycheck.

Well, bacon IS worth raving about...

I’m already coming to this and IO9 less often. Won’t take much to stop altogether.

Because Gawker died. Apparently, the folks running Giz figure they can grab the ‘OMG, did you see the LATEST!’ crowd of social media junkies.

It needs to stay. It lets the states that don’t have massive populations have a voice in the system. Take Wyoming - it’s got two electoral votes, but that means it’s got at least some influence, which with a state population of about half a mil it wouldn’t have otherwise.

“The drum... it was full of clothes and water and soap, and it... it burst into flames!”

This actually looks usable for me. Most smart watches look like finicky pieces of crap, just waiting to break. This looks a lot more solid. Thanks for putting it up!

Dang. Never heard ‘This is a good idea, it just has to be done right!’ before! That is SO novel!
