You learn from mistakes. Airdrops are obviously a marvellous way to learn. And LAPES extractions can certainly litter the landscape if the setup on the pallet isn’t right.

Yeah, that’s one of the problems. The internet keeps calling...

You almost had me till the price. That was the killer. $100, $150 for something like this I could go for.

Looks to me like an old surplus ALICE pack frame with a cargo shelf would be cheaper and a lot more comfortable. (And more stable, with a waist belt.) Let’s see... Amazon’s got ‘em for $40, and the shelf will run another $15 with shipping.

Hate to say your dad was wrong...

Yep. It would have been their worst nightmare.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Eh. They were really against public ownership of printing presses, typewriters and copiers. Radios and TV needed centralized transmitters, which could be controlled so the ideology broadcast was ‘correct’. Illegal transmitters were harshly dealt with.

I don’t often critique books. But this... let me start with the price. $23 in kindle format? WTF? $32 in hardback? Okay, it must be one heck of a book then... right?

At least the shit doesn’t stink up the place. Wouldn’t do it myself, that’s for sure.

Glad you enjoyed it! ;)

I’m pretty anti-tobacco (Stuff stinks) - but vaping seems innocuous enough. All they’re exhaling is water vapor.

Yep, seen that face before...

For some reason I’m thinking the ‘home goods’ aisle. All the ceramic plates on the shelves, plus glassware and ceramic mugs in the gaps, filled in with silverware. in the gaps.

Oh, I don’t know. As insecure as her server was they were probably reading them before she was!

“It’s not mother earth doing the job, it’s the better part of a century of shit water planning and management coming home to roost.”

Well, there’s extinction and there’s ‘extinction.’ Australia’s far enough in the Southern hemisphere that they could manage. Things would be decidedly crappy in the Northern hemisphere from things I’ve seen on the Yellowstone caldera blowing. But Australia wouldn’t get hit too hard.

More likely we’d die because there IS a consensus, but the ‘properly connected’ contractors end up grabbing the funds and moving to Australia.

I wonder how weatherproof they are?
