The antique filament style is a really nice touch - got one for a project and it’s surprising how much it looks like an incandescent. I don’t know how long they’ll last, but since they’re LED they’ll undoubtedly last longer than the same style incandescent.

I really like the Phillips Slimstyle bulbs. They’re not exactly as cheap as this deal, but they’re dimmable and I haven’t had any problems at all with them.

Bows respectfully in your direction...

WBC is to a church what a Twinkie is to a full, nutritious meal.

That’s a fairly sensible way to work it, I think.

They come with a starter cartridge. How long it lasts depends on what you print, of course.

I don’t know if you’re familar with this... but his advice helped me a lot.

David Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover” helped get my ass out of about $20k worth of debt. I’m not all the way out - but I can definitely see the end of it.

Yep.

You’re making the assumption that the union guys actually cared about the rank and file. He didn’t think so afterward- although he was more or less pro-union up to that point.

Unintended consequences - derived from economic illiterates working their way up through the union food chain.

At this point, I don’t know and can’t really check. He passed away in ‘93. MIL’s 91 at this point, and her memory’s not so hot.

My father in law had that happen in a union-run steel mill in the ‘80s. It was the big employer of the area, and the benefits were pretty sweet... until the price of steel dropped. When it did, management requested a pay cut to keep the mill open.

Good question - I couldn’t say. There’s many levels of enrichment, apparently - at least according to this bit at Wikipedia. Slightly, low and high enrichment all seem to be a thing, so to speak. So technically the uranium around it could be about 20% of U-235 up to 97%. Without further specs, I’d guess it’s on the

Sad, but unfortunately true...

Yep, think so. Ah, well - after 4 years, the damn thing’s probably permanent, and they’d need a jackhammer and crane to get it out.

They use depleted uranium as radiation shielding - because (a) it’s dense as fuck (1.7 times that of lead) and (b) you’ve got it lying around after removing the more reactive isotope (U-235) of uranium from it.

And popping up a 4 year old post - they must be hurting for material.

Well, FINE then! Be that way! ;)
