I change the oil in my daily around the 5k mark with regular oil. My 01 F150 I run a full synthetic due to the offroad abuse and “spirited” driving, but I change it at 7-8k just due to the fact that Its not driven but 6-7 days every month and sits in the garage with a battery tender.

I believe its less of the actual difficulty of the job and more of the crap you have to deal with when doing it such as: rusted on drum, stuck shoes, springs flying off when you don’t set them just right, and other crap somehow people get themselves into.
