Here is one example of the many, many ways I can tell: I passed and ass-hat in a Model S two handing his iPhone looking down at the screen while his car was (hopefully) on ‘auto-pilot’. I suppose he was exploiting his complete lack of driving capability by showing his blatant disregard for what semi-autonomous means.

I agree that having safe cars on the road is a noble goal to achieve. Such isn’t really the case with mandated inspections. We have ‘inspection’ in NC. Lots of focus on emissions but I don’t ever recall seeing a tech look at tie rod boots, brake lines etc... Honestly what really happens is just what you are saying.

How can you look at that plot objectively and site only positives from the Obama administration. Those numbers separate more and more from on another every year since 2007 (again looking at the data in the plot). I’m not saying Trump is good or bad (probably bad), but to give Obama a reach around for one small

Simple: Buy 8-10 Lexus LS400 or SC400. They run forever, look classy and you’ll never run out of parts cars.

I find it intriguing that the whole complaint about a right to work law is that it will cut unions at the knees. So my question is, if unions can’t pursuade workers to join purely because of the perceived value the union provids,  as opposed to forcing employees to contribute to what amount to a political slush

Just when I thought the bar for personal responsibility couldn’t be any more subterranean, a greedy California lawyer goes and proves me wrong yet again.

I agree with a lot of posts here... why not go the route of Scott Drake or Dennis Carpenter and buy/re-make old tooling and start hammering out reproduction parts? There is DEFINITELY a market for FJ reproduction parts. I would argue there is a market for early 80's Hilux/4Runner body parts as well (I know I struggled

It is really comical to me that the EPA (and many others) seem to think that this type of behavoir is isolated to diesels and is putting them through additional scrutiny. Our diesel emmissions regulations are extremely stringent but what does everyone think will happen as the very ‘pie-in-the-sky’ CAFE requirements

“Foxx has been quite forward-thinking on the challenges that face our cars and our roads in the years to come. We’ll see if Chao can do the same, and where she—and her boss—land on the topic of autonomous vehicles and America’s troubled infrastructure.”

“No Cars and Coffee partrons, nor Ford Mustangs were harmed in the making of this film.”

This is terribly short sighted... So in CA people will be further desensitized when witnessing car break-ins. Criminals will take advantage of this.

Thanks for leaving motorsports out of your alternative programming, ass.

2035: Gov’t regulators discover VW cheated odometer readings 15 years prior by calibrating them to read approximately 55% longer distances than normal. Somehow, no one noticed previously.

I feel like there is a fair amount of mis-characterization going on here. First of all, are you suggesting the ‘Regan era’ started in the mid-70's? He was president in 1981 - a few years after the mid 70's if keeping score at home.

Does it come in diesel?

FWIW: About six years ago a friend of mine accidentally drove his first generation Ridgeline off of a 2 ft retaining wall next to my drive way when leaving my house. He high-sided the Ridgeline, which creased the roof since it wasn’t really built to take that load case. It was a total loss according to his insurance

I thought it goes: “The more you spend, the more you save!”

“Since then Top Gear has relaunched with some very talented and wonderful people and also Chris Evans,”
