I think a small, efficient, diesel hatchback would sell in America if marketed correctly and priced well. I would probably buy one in the next two years if it was on the market.

Truly awesome machine. My only thought about a time when you’d use the other tool instead of this excavator mounted one is if the ground is too uneven for this machine to get close enough to do its work. Then you might deploy the slightly more man-portable version.

Did the same thing with my wife’s Dodge Stratus years ago. The tranny filter is inside the transmission housing and it’s a full drop the tranny, replace the gasket, and full refill procedure.

The service side of certain dealerships is so scummy. Our local Toyota dealership is notorious for this. My minivan has the V6 engine that can leak at one spot on the timing chain cover because Toyota didn’t use the gasket forming material right. It is literally an engine-out procedure to fix it - $3,200!

About the only thing I’ve found that will reliably kill that body and engine combo is a deer at highway speeds.

I was just about to say this. I was absolutely amazed the last time I was in the Detroit area (Troy, Flint) at the sheer volume of big three vehicles on the road. And I’m from red state Kansas! If there’s a place in the world to sell Chevy and Ford it would be up in the Hand State.

Between this and goddam ‘Michigan Lefts’ that city can just fuck right off.

To take a page from the Socratic, let’s start with some questions:

Never have tax issues by over paying!

My god that is horrible. I mean - turn the damn camera people!

Probably slightly better than The Cell and one step behind Trainspotting.

According to IMDB, about 121 minutes.

This is the option that I think is probably healthiest. The reality is that as we get older, we often prune away relationships that are at the periphery of our social circle. This really starts usually around the time most of us get married (25 to 30). Another round of ‘pruning’ happens when kids arrive (27 to 35).

To the person feeling trapped - if you have the opportunity to go and experience what you are describing without incurring life-crushing financial debt do it and don’t look back.

If I use the same words I’ve always used, its the same with my 4yo boy. We’ve found that we have to vary our language a bunch or distract him with another quick task/contest/race in order to get his attention.

You’re right that with boys I don’t say ‘be careful’ as much as I might with girls. I noticed that a few weeks ago after visiting some friends who have a daughter - I kept hearing them also warning their little girl of things that I wouldn’t worry about warning my boys about.

What are reputable charities that are on the ground that we as a community could help support? Like Doctors Without Borders? Or the Mexican equivalent of the Red Cross?

Yep - this is the right answer. It all matches. Rotate the piece with the fluted markings 90 degrees clockwise and it aligns. That right angle crome fits a number of corners as well. Winner!

You and I are in the same boat but I put the Avanti a bit further forward in my list owing to the fact that I used to see a guy who drove a blue one of those to work nearly every morning back in middle school. The Avanti design vocabulary hit me first.
