Woah - did not see Jayson Stark coming. I liked hearing from him quite a bit. If they drop Tim Kirkjian (sp) I’m going to be very pissed.

That quote is one of my go-to’s regarding speech and restrictions thereon. So very powerful.
I would pay to watch that, unlike anything with Danny Kanell.
If he is, I’m all but gone from sports radio. He’ll be fine, but I will avoid ESPN like the plague.
I’ll add my thoughts - I’m hoping I’m done from hearing anything from Danny Kanell. Lebatard had it right - dude looks like a mask that Tom Cruise wears in a Mission Impossible film.
I had one ticket - it was bullshit anyway - were the cop literally didn’t file the paperwork. I sent in my side of the ticket with the check and the county sent it back to me and called me to say that as far as they were concerned, this ticket didn’t exist. That is the only ticket I have ever received - literally…
I used to travel one week a month minimum for work all over the country. For lower level employees like me, you were approved to stay at the budget end of the major chains (Hilton, Marriott). I always have found Hampton Inns to be consistent and pretty darn good for a room, but your mileage may vary depending on…

Big fan of the Igloo Maxcold Glide:
I hadn’t seen that video and it wasn’t part of your earlier comment when I first responded, but if I were the officer, that guy would have been beanbagged in a heartbeat. His hand isn’t near the trigger but I don’t care - that represents clear and present threat to life and limb. If I didn’t have a bean bag shotgun,…
Hey, I’m not a wuss - when’s dinner? That all sounds great! I’ll bring my creme brulee as long as someone brings the statins.
For a dessert that seems fussy bit is very simple - creme brulee. That’s my ‘engagement chicken’ and dinner party killer every time. Four ingredients - a vanilla bean, six yolks, quart of cream, quarter cup sugar.
I do have empathy for our LEO’s namely because so many instances of mental illness end up being responded to by them because of the breakdown in services, but the second statement also sets the bar that I hold them to - they must do the right thing, immediately and every time. My fourth statement is supposed to be an…
Hold on - I’m not justifying these cops. They are open to criticism and they handled this wrong. I don’t know Grand Rapids, MI, the demographics, or the relationship with law enforcement there.
I wonder about the gator meat. I’ve only had it breaded and fried and it wasn’t too bad like that. A tiny bit chewier than chicken with only the slightest hint of game at the finish (almost a bit soapy-cilantro type flavor). Not certain how that would go in Sous Vide, but I’m on board!
You are absolutely right. But, I want to be clear, these officers did not make the right decision in unholstering their firearms. We do ask them to make these decisions and make them perfectly. When they do not they are open to criticism as they should be. On your rebuttal to item 3, it IS bad but, c’mon - you’re…
1 - Our police and emergency responders have a very tough job. They often deal with the worst people in our society on those people’s worst day.
2 - We ask a lot of them, including making life and death decisions, and we ask them to make those decisions accurately and immediately.
3 - This situation could have been a…
I love history and I had absolutely no idea those were named after Confederates (not sure where Fort Lee is, though).
While visiting Munich a few years ago, I took what was called a ‘Hitler walking tour’ that started out under the Glockenspiel. It was an outstanding tour - it walked you through parts of Munich showing you buildings that were used by the Nazi’s and pathways that were used by people opposed to the Nazis to avoid them.
If he’s leaking spinal fluid as was reported this morning, he will be out a minimum three weeks. The only way for that to heal is to lay down flat on your back and rest. It only hurts when you are standing, sitting up, walking, doing anything other than laying flat.
Good God but doesn’t that look like Lloyd Bridges from Airplane with longer hair?
