To help seal the wood, you should use food grade mineral oil. You can get it with or without beeswax at your local hardware store usually with the wood varnishes and sealants. If you seal them, wash them gently and never in the dishwasher, and occasionally reseal (more frequently at first and then less so later)…
As rough as it is to watch a bad game in bad weather, it is awful to have your head handed to you in bad weather.
Hell, nice cities in the heartland you could get a five bedroom in a historic neighborhood with 80+ year old trees and a double lot for that money as a mortgage. That’s my life right now! It’s great - five minute commute to work with four or five great restaurants/sports bars in comfortable walking distance. …
The motivating factor for most of those individuals is probably very simple to understand - fear. Right now it seems that everyone on the left is afraid for what their country may turn into with Trump at the helm. Well, the folks on the right have been afraid for what may come their way for many years as certain…
For a somewhat casual fan, however, my take centers around the pace of play. The constant reviews, challenges, referee conferences, TV timeouts, and other stoppages make the games ponderous to watch. I really feel the weight of the time that I’m wasting as I’m watching an NFL game as opposed to NCAA BB or the NBA,…
Fairbanks, Alaska. March. 2013. Two feet of snow on the ground with more expected. 25 below zero at midday.
As many have said in the comments, I feel that one of the most pressing challenges to our society today is the ‘Other-ification’ of everyone. We are so quick to label people as an Other to ourselves. Exactly what I believe we should all do. When I hit retirement age in 2046 I’m imagining that nothing will be left or it will have been converted into some other ‘benefit’.
This is great info to have but it’s probably best to treat this prospective income as a minimal safety net as you are doing your retirement planning.
On the breast meat - to be clear, you cooked those off the bone, correct? I’m thinking about trying this as an addition to the normal roast turkey for some variety for everyone to try (and to play with my immersion circulator).
There’s a quote in a great old movie about just this case - “A Man for All Seasons”:
You did great - very entertaining.

Stefanie - The hospital gift basket is a thing and it is a winner. I’ve done it twice (as my avatar might suggest) and it really helped the nurses and doctors know that we appreciate what they were doing. We did packaged stuff, though, not baked. Did it all from Costco - packaged cookies, nuts, chocolates, maybe…
*Ring* Hello, Department of Redundancy Department, Hello!
Enough stars, this does not have. Take mine now for painting such an outstanding picture.
What about the new Lays flavor? I imagine he has some spicy takes about Biscuits and Gravy chips.
If you bake it upside down you still crisp the skin on the back. In fact, it’s a bit fattier so it renders nice and crisp. That’s the thing, there’s always skin up no matter how you bake it.
The flip is so tough to do if you pull it too late, though. We just leave it upside down for the full run and don’t worry about a ‘pretty’ bird.
