No opinion on Demi, but... well done, you, on over 5 years sober! That is a great accomplishment, internet friend. Big hug to your mom, too, for her support!
“This really is a family matter.”
Oh, no. This little scheme is not even remotely a “family matter.” How can you even argue that with a straight face (even if they’re paying you to do so)?
I’m talking about low end of the debt, per kid, that the college system thinks spouse and I should shoulder, not the actual cost per year. Yeah, tuition plus room/board? That’s about $75k. Each. Times four (if we’re lucky) years. Times two kids simultaneously. It’s not happening. I love my kids but... not happening.
You know what I want, Aunt Becky? I want to be able to send my kids to college without going $100,000-plus into debt. I’d like to send them to their first-choice colleges — they both were accepted — but guess what we face? A horrible higher-education financing system that too often places ridiculous burdens on…
It’s muttonchops. Since we’re aiming to return to the 19th century.
As someone whose ancestors worked those dangerous silver mines for a pittance so they could have money to send home to Italy: Good. I hope those 21st-century Dr. Who spiders are MASSIVE. And invasive.
Give your friend a big hug and either sign her up for a meal delivery of small single-serve meals or cook some up yourself. Lovely friends delivered massive meals after my (yes, advanced maternal age) twins, which was so thoughtful, but I usually couldn’t eat that much between the babies’ feeding sessions, diapers,…
Is... is he wearing a MAGA hat and a Colin Kaepernick shirt simultaneously?
He went to an all-boys high school right? He knows 60-plus girls, now women, from that era, well enough even though he didn’t go to school with them, and has remained in touch with them so, in the space of a day, they can be tracked down and interviewed with enough detail and are willing to go *on the record* to vouch…
OMG the look of concern on his face in the screenshot. LOLOLOL.
“Crazy how God works.”
Indeed. Ick.
He had to work on his BIRTHDAY?? Oh, the horror.
This is someone with infinite options to choose another way to be. Who could choose to use his money for something other than earning more of it.
I am so sorry, beyond words, for your loss.
I’m so sorry... and hope that you’re feeling much better now. Your compassion to reach out like that is amazing.
I second, third and fourth that recommendation. They are WONDERFUL.
Plus, there’s no way you’re clambering up into a horse-drawn carriage high off the ground in a tight dress.
“She also said Johnston would give her between $1,500 and $2,000 every week for no particular reason, according to court records. If she needed money, she said, he would ‘pull out a large wad of cash.’”
“For no particular reason,” as one does. Nothing to question here.
When I fractured my ankle a few years ago, I thought briefly about making up some extraordinary circumstances surrounding how I did it, but nah... foot slipped on a three-step flight of stairs (not even sure you can count three steps as “a flight.”)
Did the same in NYC, on a New Year’s Eve in the ‘80s.
Welcome to the afterlife.
