I have a RetroN 5 and I like it, but it’s not compatible with 100% of games for its supported platforms. It doesn’t work at all with the new homebrew / reprint carts that have come out over the last several years, such as the recent Star Wars NES cartridge from Limited Run, or the collector’s edition Mega Man 2, Mega

You had me at “Toby Fox-made soundtrack”

I got chills watching that final. This is one reason I love SonicFox so much -- he’s a great competitor and a good sport. Congratulations to GO1! Yatta!

I, for one, am looking forward to the theoretical second Video Game Crash, since it will finally give me time to get caught up on my backlog, with no new games to purchase ad add to the pile.

As someone who deals with bank / financial fraud at my job on an almost daily basis, I can assure you that your local police / sheriff’s department / FBI (at least in the U.S.) have absolutely no interest at all in investigating the vast, vast majority of fraud claims like this. They claim, accurately or not, that

One of my favorite games of all time! I have very fond memories of playing this as a kid, and I still have a photograph of my TV screen showing the end sequence when I finally beat it. The new SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is worth it for this game alone. I do recommend newcomers avoid the Game Boy Color port, as it

This is great!!! More comics like this, please!

To answer Tim’s question, the most likely serial killer in the Nintendo pantheon is Kirby. Since he is, in fact, a serial killer canonically in his games and all.

Awesome! I live right down the road from this arcade / museum near Oakland, so I’ll have to check it out.

According to Nintendo World Report, the answer is no:

Switching back and forth on my, ahem, Nintendo Switch, between Splatoon 2, which is having another Splatfest, and Tetris 99, so I can earn enough points in the latest tournament to earn that sweet Game Boy theme.

I’m a very casual Pokemon fan who didn’t grow up with the games (I was in college when Red / Blue came out). The first game in the series I played was Yellow, about three years ago, just to see what all the fuss was about as Pokemon GO took over the world. I liked it and I’ve played a few other games since.

I want to know who your enemies are, Tim...

Thank you for all you’ve done for the site, and for gaming. Kotaku remains my go-to site for features, news, and in-depth coverage.

Galaga is the earliest gaming memory I have, playing it at a pizza parlor my family frequented. I still come back to it all the time. (Highly recommended: Namco Museum for Nintendo Switch, with its arcade-perfect version.)

The Nintendo 64 mech needs more fog

Thank you, Tim. This was a great series. I would gladly watch a continuation for the entire game, had you not ended it so poignantly and emotionally.

The way the official announcement was worded, I have a strong suspicion that this is *not* a remake of the original. That game was developed and published by Ubisoft, but the IP is owned by a Belgian graphic novel publisher. The new game being made “in the style of” the PS2 / GameCube version leads me to believe this
