I’m just here to ask for that FFIV stream you promised.

Thanks so much for sharing, Mike. Would you ever consider making your experiences into some sort of game? Some of this sounds incredible, though I imagine you might not want to re-live it in game form.

Also, do your sons have any idea how freaking awesome the source of their names are? PHRASING!

I think it depends on pricing. Nintendo famously doesn’t like to cut prices on its hardware or software, so the “original” Switch might stay on the market at $300 US, the lower-end “Switch Lite” at under $200, and the beefier “Switch Pro” around $400.

I did, in fact, like this video. More, please

The deal to print the Wii U discs and the promise made by Limited Run to sell the game in physical form for Wii U was made years ago. It’s taken this long because of the legal fiasco described in the story. I was one of the Wii U customers and I ended up buying the special edition for Switch instead, largely under the

I always liked Metal Man for his design, his stage theme, and his sweet OP weapon get after you KO him.  But my favorite is probably Guts Man, since he comes back as a TANK in MM2, then is rebuilt again as Guts Man G in MM7. Apparently he was Dr. Wily’s favorite, too!

I always heard that line as “make the homies stay home, make the girlies wanna scream.”

Great write-up. I live in San Jose and I was lucky enough to attend. Tons of fun, great crowd, lively atmosphere. I highly recommend anyone with even a passing interest in Smash find a local tournament and check it out. It’s a great community.

I can remember being astonished by this when I first saw it in an arcade... and deeply disappointed when I actually played it.

It’s not easy to avoid the Gase gaze.

Hopefully the sort of inverse Streisand Effect here will garner Devolver Digital as much publicity and exposure for Gris as a Facebook ad might have, but for free!

Seriously Gris is good and worth buying on PC or Nintendo Switch

I, for one, am low on inspiration to find a local bar airing the game between two thoroughly mediocre teams (Nevada being my alma mater) because Comcast doesn’t carry CBS Sports Network.

Final Fantasy VII Remake seems like an obvious choice.

Exciting! They didn’t say which consoles, but I’m optimistic it will be all 3.

Seconded, and I’ll add you can also play them in “handheld” mode with the GamePad.  Best way I’ve ever experienced a GBA game.

I always thought Frosty was a golem.

I have found a guaranteed solution to this problem:

Very interesting and informative piece, Chris. I would add something I believe is central to Nintendo’s decisions about the SNES-CD and Nintendo 64 that was hinted at here: Nintendo wanted absolute control over game media manufacturing. I vividly remember the Nintendo marketing machine of the 1990s pushing “speed” and
