What the hell is wrong with people? Stupid stories like this seem to pop up every day. Do these people think that there will be no recourse for their actions?

About 8 years ago a friend of mine saw one of these for sale on a lady’s front lawn. She told him that no one could get it to run properly, and he could have it for $500. He bought it, fixed it, drove it for a while and still does now and then.

Been buying and driving cars for 57 years now. Two things that are at the BOTTOM of my list of concerns when buying a car are fuel economy and perceived safety.

At first, this price seems off the wall. But, consider what a new car in this condition would cost, and most new cars are not cool at all. I would love to drive around in this, and to me it is well worth the price.

I drive a Grand Cherokee Hemi and an RX7 FC. I am in the process of rebuilding a TR8.

British sports cars leak oil because they are oid. One which had been carefully maintained over the years leaks minimal oil.

Back in the day, there was one of these running around t0wn with a 283 Chevy under the hood. I think a 327 followed. It was a stormer, for sure.

Gotta say I was getting a kick out of Rebel, perhaps because my Father is in the market for one of those heart valve. Even so, it’s cool to see Katey back, too bad not for long.

Don’t know how true it is, but my father (now 96 years old) once told me that gasoline rationing was actually designed to conserve tires. He says that we had plenty of gas, but rubber for tires not so much, but it was easier for the government to control the sale of gas.

In Florida, there is a law that the ambulance companies must accept whatever the person’s insurance company pays.

Today there is someone on the local FB page selling gas cans for $15 each. She seems to have a bunch of them. In the meantime, I drove yesterday from Spring Hill (just South of Homosassa) down to Clearwater and back, and saw no gas stations with long lines or out of gas signs.

I was 19 years old and finishing out my Summer job with a local moving company in Baltimore. I had been working with the same driver all year, but he failed to show up that day. We had been driving an International Cab Over with a 28ft trailer, fairly typical for the day.

Well, my current RX7 gets about the same mileage as my Grand Cherokee Hemi, so I guess I am just beyond caring. I have NEVER bought a vehicle because of fuel mileage, and I think I’ve done OK.

    Bite your tongue.

A bunch of us were talking about this last night. I insisted that the accessories were powered by a smaller battery, and the others in the group told me I was crazy. Egg on their face.

History repeating itself, for sure. I am old enough to remember the gas shortages back in the 70's. Lining up the night before, 10 gallon maximum purchase, chasing gas tankers around to see where they were heading.

So last night I couldn’t sleep, and ended up watching old Top Gear reruns from season 12, I think. In it, Clarkson goes bonkers over the Fiat Abarth. Interesting coincidence, I guess.

I love seeing people do this to cars. What you have here is a decent looking ride which has absolutely no practical use because IT DOESN’T HAVE A TAILGATE!!!”

THIS. If I were waiting there, and they recognized him and put him in the front of the line, I would have had to say something.

Don’t be surprised if someone else picks them up. I actually enjoyed this series, even though the only thing Holmes and Watson about it were the names of some of the characters.
